Our piano teacher James offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 4 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. James has been teaching piano lessons since 2016. This piano teacher’s solo performances include works such as Beethoven's Waldstein sonata and Chopin's C minor Nocturne, Op.48. He frequently improvises in his solo recitals. James has performed in jazz bands and piano quartets in the past and played the piano in Shostakovich's Jazz Suite No.2 at St. John Smith's Square. He frequently accompanies all sorts of musicians, from saxophonists and bassoonists to musical theatre and choirs. He has performed and composed various pieces across many genres. A particular highlight was 'within a grain,' his own composition, which may be performed for up to three of any instrument. He is also a conductor and set up an orchestra whilst at university; he conducted Aristo Sham in Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto. James believes that playfulness should be at the centre of effective education, and aims to cultivate such an atmosphere in his lessons.
