He has also toured internationally with artists including Christine and the Queens and Loyle Carner. Alongside his career as a performing and recording artist, Ashley has been teaching piano since 2010. His teaching combines the strong foundations of his classical training with the creativity, freedom and practical musicianship of jazz and contemporary music. Ashley teaches students aged 8 and above, from complete beginners through to advanced pianists. Lessons can include classical piano, jazz, improvisation, chords and harmony, playing by ear, pop, soul, R&B, songwriting, music theory and performance, with lessons tailored to each student's interests and goals. Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, develop your technique, improvise, prepare for an audition, or simply become a more confident and creative pianist, Ashley's aim is to help you develop the skills to make music for yourself. His experience as a working artist gives students the opportunity to learn not only how to play the piano, but how to listen, understand music, develop their own ideas and find their own musical voice.
