Our piano teacher, Jack, offers jazz piano lessons for ages 5 and above, from beginner to advanced. A Masters-qualified pianist and dedicated teacher with nine years of experience, Jack brings the same depth and enthusiasm to the classroom as he does to the stage. He has extensive experience preparing students for ABRSM examinations at all grades, and works with students of all ages and levels — from young children taking their first steps at the keys, to teenagers preparing for exams, to adult beginners and advanced improvers.

At the University of Manchester, Jack focused on composition and performance in his final year, graduating with a First-class mark of 80 for his final performance. During this time he was elected Musical Director of the University of Manchester Big Band and was a regular member of MSC Big Band, performing at venues such as the O2 Academy Manchester and Kendal Calling. From 2017 to 2019, Jack served as Musician in Residence at St Lawrence College Ramsgate. In this role he played organ, accompanied ensembles and solo performers, and taught composition and performance to students of all levels — from complete beginners through to those preparing for university auditions.

Since 2019, Jack has worked as a full-time self-employed musician and composer across Kent and London. Notable collaborations include work with Neptunes Choir and Amy Lennox during his time in Kent. In London, Jack has performed alongside Sophie Koole, Annie Majin, Camille Rose and many other singers, instrumentalists and composers at venues including Zedel, Crazy Coqs, The Savoy, Oliver's, The Green Note, MAP Studio, The Ned, The Dilly, and many others. Jack has recorded notably with Yoshika Colwell, MYRY, Sophie Koole and Daisy Houlder. Based in Hackney, Jack performs predominantly in a jazz style — specialising in jazz standards and swing — while also working professionally in pop settings. He is a member of the North London Jazz Collective and is currently working on his debut album.

Jack completed his Masters in Music in jazz piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance in June 2025, where he studied under the tutelage of Bruno Heinen, Deschanel Gordon, Liam Noble and Byron Wallen, among others. Jack's lessons are welcoming to students of any musical background or ambition. Known for his patience, encouragement and knack for making theory accessible, he tailors every lesson to the individual — whether that means working towards a grade exam, developing an ear for jazz harmony, or simply finding a love of the piano.
