Our piano teacher David offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 4 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from the University of Oxford, graduating with First-Class Honours, and extensive experience teaching, performing, and composing on the piano. David has been teaching piano lessons since 2020 and has more than a decade of teaching experience across private tuition, schools, and community music programmes. While pursuing his degree in music, he performed classical piano in solo recitals, masterclasses, and the University of Oxford College Orchestra. David works with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced pianists preparing for ABRSM exams, GCSE and A-level Music, and university music applications, with a 100% exam pass rate. As a versatile professional musician, David has performed with the rock band Mandrake Handshake for seven years, releasing two EPs and an album (reviewed in The Times) which reached #4 on the Independent Albums chart. The band toured across Europe and major cities in the United Kingdom, supporting rock legends Del Amitri, and appeared at festivals including Latitude, Green Man, Truck, Manchester Psych Fest, and Wide Awake Festival, as well as venues such as 100 Club and Fabric in London and Berghain in Berlin. He also released an experimental jazz album under the artist name Silver Sakura, which received international radio play, and his track “A Final Primal” was featured on BBC Introducing. David’s compositional work includes writing for the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, string quartet, and classical clarinetist Mark Simpson. He composed, recorded, and produced the soundtrack for “LMH 140th Anniversary”, co-wrote and recorded the soundtrack for the Italian film ‘Una Gran voglia di vivere,’ and contributed music to the documentary ‘LMH Foundation Year’ (Oxford University). David draws on his diverse experience in the music industry to craft lessons that inspire joy, curiosity, and a lifelong love of the piano and music, and is known for his calm, flexible teaching approach that helps students build confidence and creativity.
